Tony M. Woodward DVM, AVDC graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Colorado State University in 1977, and subsequently attended veterinary school at the same institution, graduating in 1981. He has practiced in Colorado since that time, focusing primarily on small animal practice.
Beginning in 1996, Dr. Woodward was drawn into dental care of pets, and has spent the majority of his time practicing small animal dentistry and pursuing education in that field. Since June 2000, he has limited his practice to strictly veterinary dentistry. In March 2001, Dr. Woodward opened Animal Dental Care, one of the few practices in the United States devoted entirely to veterinary dentistry.
Dr. Woodward is Board Certified in Veterinary Dentistry, and is a Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College. This is the most advanced level of certification available in veterinary dentistry, allowing Dr. Woodward to state that he is a “Specialist” in veterinary dentistry.
As part of his training for board certification, Dr. Woodward has obtained over 1000 hours of dental-specific education, including hundreds of hours spent with human and veterinary dental specialists, numerous professional meetings, hands-on laboratory sessions, and hundreds of hours of self-imposed reading. He has lectured locally and nationally to many veterinarians and their staffs on dental-related topics. People come from all over North America have been trained by him.
Dr. Woodward was elected and served as Secretary/Treasurer and later President of the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association. He has been awarded membership of the Morris Animal Foundation’s prestigious Veterinary Honor Roll.
Personal interests include fly fishing, backpacking, windsurfing, mountain biking, guitar, Labrador Retrievers, and spending time with his family.
